Teleprompter Pro (formerly Teleprompter Premium)

Who it's for: people who want a classic, flexible prompter that works with hardware rigs and many control options.

Teleprompter Pro was known as Teleprompter Premium until it was renamed. Its App Store listing describes control by keyboard, handheld remote, PlayStation or Xbox controller, a web browser or another iOS device on the same Wi-Fi, and Apple Watch. It can show the script full screen on a connected display or AirPlay TV, mirror text for beam-splitter rigs, import PDF, Word, PowerPoint, TXT and RTF files, record you while you read, and create .srt captions with a subscription. Several of these are Pro features.

Pricing: free to download; Pro is offered as a one-time purchase or a subscription. See the App Store for current prices.

Where it beats Prompter: remote control, external displays, file import and iPad support.

BIGVU

Who it's for: creators and marketers who want a teleprompter, editor, captions and social publishing in one subscription.

BIGVU's App Store listing goes well beyond prompting: automatic captions with branded themes, front and rear cameras, vertical, square or landscape recording, green-screen background replacement, an AI eye-contact fix, trimming and music, AI tools, the BIGVU Cloud and a web editor, and posting to social networks. It also lists support for game controllers and runs on iPad and Apple silicon Macs.

Pricing: free plan with limits (BIGVU's pricing page lists watermarked 720p export on Free); paid subscriptions on top. Web and App Store prices differ, so see the App Store for current prices.

Where it beats Prompter: captions, editing, rear camera, cloud and multi-device use. Read our Prompter vs BIGVU comparison.

Teleprompter.com

Who it's for: creators and teams who want a full-featured prompter across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Android and the web.

Teleprompter.com's VoiceGlide scrolls with your voice, and the company says it is free on every plan and works offline on iOS. The app supports remote control from another device, Apple Watch, Bluetooth keyboards, presentation remotes and foot pedals, imports TXT, Word and PDF scripts, generates subtitles, live streams, and offers shared workspaces for teams.

Pricing: free Starter plan (recordings carry a watermark); Pro from $19.99/month, or $7.50/month billed yearly, at the time of writing (November 2026), with a 7-day free trial on annual plans.

Where it beats Prompter: free voice scrolling, platform coverage, remotes, captions and cloud storage. See Prompter vs Teleprompter.com.

PromptSmart Pro

Who it's for: speakers who want a long-standing speech-tracking prompter and prefer paying for the app up front.

PromptSmart's VoiceTrack follows your speech, starts and stops with you and holds its place if you go off-script. The listing also mentions a Selfie Mode for recording, text mirroring for teleprompter glass, and import and export with iCloud, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive and Box. Remote control comes with the Extended subscription or as a separate purchase.

Pricing: $29.99 to download at the time of writing (November 2026), plus an optional Extended subscription.

Where it beats Prompter: cloud file sync, document import, remote control and iPad support.

Teleprompter for Video

Who it's for: creators who want a prompter plus quick edits for social videos.

From Norton Five, this app records with the front or rear camera at up to 4K, offers voice-assisted scrolling, a floating mode that shows the script over other apps, mirroring, Bluetooth remotes, foot pedals and Apple Watch control, plus captions or .srt export, resizing, logos and green-screen backgrounds.

Pricing: free for scripts up to 750 characters without watermarks; Premium from $8.99/month at the time of writing (November 2026).

Where it beats Prompter: rear camera, 4K, overlay mode, remotes and editing tools.

Prompter our app

Who it's for: people who record themselves on the iPhone's front camera and want a simple, private prompter that follows their voice.

Prompter shows your script over the live front camera preview, right under the lens. Auto-scroll with adjustable speed is free. Follow voice is free on your first 3 recordings, then part of Pro; it uses Apple's on-device speech recognition, so it works offline and your audio stays on the iPhone; it dims spoken words and waits when you pause. Pro also adds mirror mode and clean recordings (free recordings carry a small "Made with Prompter" watermark). There is no account, no cloud and no tracking: scripts are stored only on your device. See all features.

Pricing: free; Pro $7.99/month, $49.99/year with a 7-day free trial, or $99.99 once for lifetime. Details on the pricing page.

What it lacks: rear camera recording, remotes, external displays, file import, cloud sync, iPad and Mac versions, and captions (automatic subtitles are coming later).
